Greenland Glacier Water
Tamatta works closely together with the greenland government and with greenland’s indigenous people.
We actively ask for wisdom & support of other indigenous people and we especially consult our elder brothers, the Mamos of the Sierra Nevada.
“In greenland OUR word for water is “imeq”. It means “life giving source to all” IMEQ - SUNIK TAMANIK UUMMARTITTISOQ
Our first question to the Mamos has been: are we allowed to ship Greenland’s melting glacier water at all? Or should we simply respect that the water is leaving? Since that moment the Mamos have been supporting our endeavours with their insights, their wisdom and their ceremonies (their so-called ‘pagamentos’)

Access to water has become a survival issue for billions of people in the world:
About 2.8 billion people (36% of the world's population) today live in areas of direct water stress or water scarcity.
Although this may apply especially in South Asia and Africa, these problems are a much broader phenomenon. Many Megacities all over the world face dramatic and acute water scarcity.

This is who we are
In a world where nearly 2.5 billion people reside in regions and large cities experiencing water stress or scarcity, we recognize that the root cause is not solely structural water scarcity but rather irresponsible water usage, the complete disregard for natural water cycles, and the conscious and unconscious pollution of water. Ecosystems around the globe are being destroyed or threatened as a result. The prevailing Western practices of extracting raw materials and water from the Earth are causing increasing harm to ecological and social ecosystems worldwide.
This poses a significant threat not only to nature in all its forms but also to indigenous populations, jeopardizing their survival and the preservation of their cultures. The current water scarcity, resulting from mismanagement, endangers the concept of water as an "affordable common" and fosters dangerous speculation about water as a commodity.
A profound shift in awareness regarding water and its responsible use is imperative to halt and reverse the ongoing destruction and degradation of the Earth's social and ecological ecosystems.
The escalating water shortage poses a direct threat to long-term global peace.

Focus on Transformation of 99% of existing systems of today's water use
Recognition of today's lock-ins and false assumptions about water and water use:
No water scarcity, but wrong and wasteful use of water
Radical circular redesign of all water systems is called for Pause-Button approach:
Only temporarily adding more water to local systems, through strategic water buffers & stocks
TAMATTA's Purpose:
Explicitly supporting necessary systemic change in water use and the resulting regeneration of ecosystems
We foresee 2 main types of use:

Code of conduct & articles of association cooperation define different types of membership, what the members rights are, how to deal with succession, and how to implement a system with different voting powers.
Articles of association: State the Mission of the foundation. Articles steer the decision making process as executive and supervisory board safeguard the articles
Executive Board decisions backed-up by advisory board (incl. Greenland GOV) but ESG & Impact Matrix driven where to spend money - fully digital tracked and monitored
Work together with trustable partners inside the cooperation. Parties involved are B-corps and/or signed document stated that they work with business as a mission principles.
Consent (Escalation) Model driven by de-escalation and ethics
A general assembly decides how to spend the profit with long term contracts/memberships of the cooperation
Full transparency how value streams are flowing.
Return Of Impact model defines a set of success criteria which leads to informed decisions making and neutral evaluation of created value
Ongoing Report allows System Partners and Customers to understand and track value vs spendings
